EHS Manager - SF - 101 / Houston, TX (Metal Processing)

Salary: 90k 135k

Responsibilities:

  • Participation in the Safety Council activities and projects. Transfer safety SOPs, procedures and processes to market activities(link removed)
  • Drive continuous improvement in our safety culture while working towards exceeding site-specific safety goals.
  • Performs regular audits and inspections of the facilities to identify potential safety hazards and work with employees and supervisors to determine and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with Company EHS policies, procedures and practices within the Texas Market.
  • Provide leadership in implementing and managing EHS policies, programs and practices for multiple locations within Texas(link removed)
  • Ensure record keeping standards for EHS programs is implemented and maintained.
  • Obtain continuous education related to EHS. Become certified as an OSHA Certified Trainer.
  • Lead the incident investigation team through a thorough incident investigation process for near misses and injuries.
  • Advise and train managers and supervisors on their roles and responsibilities in the EHS program.
  • Implement and coordinate safety programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries.

Requirements:

  • 5 7 years' experience in an EHS role in manufacturing or a metals service center environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor employees in a matrixed organization.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements of OSHA, EPA, NFPA and other federal and state agencies.
  • Must be self-directed, professional and dependable.
  • Impeccable attention to detail, effective problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coach, train and be an effective leader.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge and experience with MS Office.
