EMT II Home Health Hospice Location: US-NM-Albuquerque Email this job to a friend

As a full-service home care and hospice agency providing a broad range of services to our customers, we are currently seeking a full-time EMT II to be part of our Rapid Response Team caring for our hospice and TCM patients. - Restoring patient's pulmonary function and alleviating discomfort
- Meeting patient's goals through assessment of pulmonary function tests
- Determining respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians and by prescription
- Operating mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators
- Performing bronchopulmonary drainage and assisting with breathing exercises
- Monitoring physiological responses to therapy, such as vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes
- Directing treatments given by aides, technicians and assistants.
- Completing discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers
- Designing home exercise programs and instructing patients, families, and caregivers by recommending outpatient follow-up programs and providing assistive equipment
- Charting patient care services
- Maintaining patient confidence and protecting confidential health information
- Adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
- Ensuring proper operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and calling for repairs.
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge with continuing education
- Complying with federal, state, and local legal and certification requirements
Requirements Qualifications & Requirements: - Certification by the NBRC or EMT II Certification
- Minimum 2+ years experience preferred
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
- Respectful bedside manner
- Physiological knowledge
- Infection control awareness
- Excellent verbal communication
