Job Details
Labor & Employment Attorney
Must have 3 years of experience in ERISA litigation
Active and in good standing license in New York
Qualifications
JD from an accredited law school
Admitted to practice in New York required
Superior communication, writing, and research skills
Legal project management experience is helpful
Responsibilities
- Direct experience litigating ERISA fiduciary breach class actions
- ERISA defense litigation in federal trial and appellate courts
- Drafting pleadings and motions
- Handling discovery independently
- Preparing for depositions, and court appearances
- Counseling experience and excellent client-relations skills would also be a plus
Experience and knowledge of
ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974)
Employee Benefit Plans
Retirement plans, severance plans, disability plans, health coverage, and 401k
Federal tax and labor laws
Pension plans in private industry
Rules on the federal income tax effects of transactions associated with employee benefit plans
