Title: EV Charging Interoperability Test
Duration: 1 year
Location: This position is based out of Lisle, IL however there will be travel out into the field.....travel could be up to 50% of the time

Description

The CDL is definitely a bonus, but not required.
We can typically find someone else to move vehicles around (a dealer tech, etc.) but it is more convenient/efficient if the testing tech is able to do it. But in no way a showstopper.

The primary method of ensuring that our vehicles work with a charger is to perform an interoperability study.
This involves more than just plugging a charger into a vehicle and watching it charge once for a short period of time.
We have a documented test process to verify that our vehicles charge with a specific model charger under a wide variety of conditions.
That test procedure will be provided separately.

There are several things that need to happen to perform an interoperability study:
1. A production vehicle with the latest hardware and software must be available.
2. Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) must be present and functional next to the vehicle.
3. A trained client representative must be present to perform testing according to the interoperability test procedure.
4. Vector hardware and software is required for data logging.
5. Wiring harnesses are required to connect the vehicle and EVSE to the data-logging equipment.
6. CAN data logs must be recorded from the vehicle.
7. PLC data log must be recorded from the EVSE.
8. Preferable- a representative from the EVSE supplier should perform testing with a client representative.
9. Preferable a person needs to be in attendance who can drive the vehicle.

Desired qualifications for the person doing interoperability testing:
Work independently
Technical competency
o Can be trained to take CAN & PLC logs
o Can be trained to troubleshoot interoperability issues
Attention to detail
o Perform testing
o Document test results
Willingness to travel more than 50% of the time
Can coordinate test activities at various locations throughout the country
Nice to have:
CDL to move trucks and buses
Ability to be customer-facing and explain in simple terms why a vehicle may not charge
Experience troubleshooting interoperability issues
