We are looking for an Estimator/Project Manager who has experience with grading, earthworks, and paving.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for various highway projects, ensuring all aspects are thoroughly evaluated
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and develop comprehensive cost estimates
- Analyze project plans and specifications to identify potential risks, opportunities, and scope changes
- Conduct thorough material take-offs and cost assessments to determine quantities and pricing for project bids
- Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor bids to ensure competitive pricing and quality workmanship
Essential Job Functions:
- Utilize industry-leading software tools to accurately estimate project costs and durations
- Collaborate with the project team, providing valuable input on cost-saving measures and value engineering options
- Stay updated on industry trends, market pricing, and labor rates to ensure accurate estimations
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
- Review project plans and specifications to identify potential value engineering opportunities
Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction estimation preferred
- Proficiency in using industry software, such as Bluebeam, HCSS HeavyBid, or similar estimating programs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet project deadlines
