Echo Tech - Sonographer Pediatrics- Asheville, NC

Shift: 2 Openings - FT 8:00a.m-4:30p.m, with on call

 

Job Summary 

• Performs all facets of cardiac ultrasound testing for the noninvasive pediatric laboratory of Cardiology Services, including two-dimensional, spectral and color Doppler, transesophageal and stress echocardiography. Participation in fetal echocardiography may be required.

Required Education 

• Graduate from an accredited cardiac sonography program or have practiced as a sonographer for greater than 2 years

Preferred Education 

•  Graduate from an accredited cardiac sonography program with a minimum of 2 years full-time pediatric experience

Required License 

• Must be a Registered Cardiac Sonographer with Cardiovascular Credentialing International or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (Adult and/or Pediatric-Pediatric preferred; or be registry eligible and obtain registry within one year of employment. BCLS (Adult).

Preferred License 

• ARDMS, PALS, BCLS Pediatrics

Required Experience 

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer with strong knowledge of congenital heart disease

Preferred Experience 

•  5 or more years practicing as a pediatric echo sonographer

• Supports 3 pediatric cardiologists, 40+ cardiologists in group (busy office)


• Reports to front-line supervisor


• No Ped Cardiac Cath nor Ped Open Heart


• Must be a team player, willing to work in a busy office


• Must have at least 2 years’ experience for fee-based candidates

• Must be willing to float between the out-patient clinic (Peds) and the main hospital (Neonatal ICU and Peds ICU)
