Orange Comet seeks an experienced Economist with a proven track record of developing economic models and actional insights for mobile-based games. As a Mobile Game Economist, you will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting player behavior data, developing economic models, and providing actionable insights to enhance the performance and profitability of our mobile games. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including game designers, and product managers, to drive the monetization and retention strategies for our games. This role requires a deep understanding of mobile gaming economics, strong analytical skills, and a passion for creating exceptional player experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize player behavior data and statistical analysis to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for improving the monetization and retention of our mobile games.
• Design and implement economic models to simulate and forecast the impact of various pricing, promotions, and virtual economy changes.
• Collaborate with game designers and product managers to provide data-backed recommendations on game features, virtual economy design, pricing strategies, and user acquisition initiatives.
• Work closely with data analysts to develop and maintain dashboards and reports that track key performance metrics and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of in-game events, offers, and sales campaigns, and propose optimizations to improve player engagement and monetization.
• Conduct A/B tests and data-driven experiments to measure the impact of different game design changes and monetization strategies.
• Monitor and analyze the impact of balance changes, economy updates, and game updates on player behavior and revenue generation.
• Collaborate with the finance team to develop revenue forecasts, budgeting models, and pricing structures that align with the overall business objectives.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in mobile gaming, industry trends, and best practices related to game economics.
• Collaborate with the development and design teams to create and maintain the company's web applications.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an economist or data analyst in the mobile gaming industry, with a strong focus on monetization strategies.
• Deep understanding of microeconomic principles, behavioral economics, and statistical analysis.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages such as SQL, R, Python, or similar.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
• Passion for mobile gaming and a deep understanding of player motivations and preferences.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to align economic strategies with overall business objectives.
• Demonstrated history of effectively monetizing shipped games, ideally on mobile platforms.

Additional Information:

The base salary range for a full-time position is $70,000-$200,000 USD+ benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
