Job Description Economic Research Analyst JOB TITLE: Economic Research Analyst REPORTS TO: AVP JOB SUMMARY The candidate is responsible for studying economic indicators and business sector research based on deep and robust research and analytical capabilities. The candidate should provide high-quality, actionable, and practical information within the economic context provided. (link removed) Strategic awareness is an essential requisite of the role. The candidate should have a well-developed ability to apply good knowledge of core study areas (eg: economic research, industry dynamics, etc.). In carrying out the tasks assigned the candidate should work with minimum supervision. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS ANALYTYICAL Research various economic indicators such as GDP, inflation, monetary policy, trade and investments etc. reports. Collate and analyze information, such as data from public sources, surveys and specialist agency Deploy qualitative and quantitative sources and processes to develop and scrutinize theories. Assess how economic indicators affect the private sector, public sector and other industries. Monitor key global economic developments and emergent trends and connected issues with implications for the wider business landscape. Study various regulatory actions taken by global central banks and assess its impact on the overall economy and the banking sector The candidate should be able to provide forward looking guidance on various economic fronts and the resultant impact on the economy and sectors. Author reports and develop presentations. Supporting internal senior management research requests on various topics as the case may be. Consistently tracking and implementing best practices in research, data collection and presentation. Looking out for ways to refine content presentation to reach more members of the target audience. STRATEGIC TECHNICAL SKILLS The candidate should possess the following technical skills: Quantitiative analysis including statistical analysis Report writing skills Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Power Point QUALIFICATIONS MBA / Post Graduate degree in Economics and / or related discipline. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Preferred - 2-4 years experience, with exposure in research writing.
