Job Purpose:

Serves as a leader and strategist managing the development and growth of partnership initiatives to support GSIs strategic plan and goals around education, talent, and workforce for the regional economy. This position requires the ability to collaborate with a team and lead volunteers, build and maintain strategic cross-sector partnerships, and navigate the diverse education and workforce marketplace with employers and educators from early learning through postsecondary attainment to provide opportunities for all in the region which advance regional economic development. This position is currently grant funded.

Salary Range is $67,000 - $72,000 depending on experience

Full-time, exempt

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manages the Career Connect Northeast Regional Network (CCNE) which houses the Washington STEM and Career Connect Washington combined eastern Washington regional networks.
  • Serves as the strategic leader and point of contact for CCNEs CCW Regional Network grant throughout the Northeast Washington Education Service District (NEWESD) 101 region:
    • Convenes and manages cross-sector partnerships that develop, implement, and expand career-connected learning (CCL) opportunities to meet the CCNE regions needs through Career Exploration, Career Prep, and Career Launch programs.
    • Partners with NEWESD 101 CCL staff to ensure CCNE Program Builders and CCW Sector Leads are supported, connected, and interactive with business and education partners.
    • Collects relevant CCL data and completes required grant and GSI reports.
  • Serves as co-lead with the CCNE Executive Director for the WA STEM Regional Network.
  • Establishes and maintains partnerships with strategic organizations at the local, state, and national level including business leaders, higher education leadership, K-12 and early learning leadership, economic development professionals, and community organizations committed to education, talent, and workforce attainment.
  • Collaborates with the Education & Talent team at a management level to achieve GSIs Strategic Plan.
  • Supports key leadership in implementing marketing and communication strategies with member partners, media, and the community.
  • Builds and maintains a strong, regional network focused on innovation in STEM education, career-connected learning, post-secondary attainment, and economic and workforce development.
  • Identifies and collaborates on funding opportunities with the Partnership & Development team.
  • Partners on communications, advocacy, and public policy outreach pertaining to Education & Talent initiatives.
  • Contributes to Education & Talent programs and activities as part of the Education & Talent department.
  • Contributes to organizational success by:
    • supporting GSIs Education & Talent Alliance, connecting organizational goals and mission through data-driven decisions;
    • providing strategic input on issues affecting the organization;
    • working with colleagues to discover and develop ways to retain, grow, better align, and leverage GSI resources for greater impact;
    • developing and maintaining relationships with GSIs Board and investors to improve engagement;
    • contributing to an organizational culture of teamwork, support, engagement, and empowerment;
    • regularly evaluating GSIs systems and processes for continuous improvement; and
    • managing the collection, organization, and presentation of key data in relation to GSIs strategic plan and goals.

  • Education/Experience: Bachelors degree in business, communications, education, public administration, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of related experience in developing and leading people, programs, and community collaboration through project management is required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Previous experience working in or with the PK-20 educational system is preferred.
  • Familiarity with existing and emerging education, business/industry, workforce, and economic development strategies and trends.
  • Commitment to and understanding of the issues and opportunities in post-secondary attainment, the current needs and challenges faced by students, and the goal of promoting student success on a large scale to improve the economic prosperity and civic well-being of individuals and communities.
  • Knowledge of the Spokane region, community organizations, and organizations in the region related to educational attainment and student success is preferred.
  • Experience managing projects of varying complexities to achieve desired outcomes and assure required legal or fiduciary compliance and reporting.
  • Demonstrated competency in financial management, including experience in budget development and management.
  • Experience managing and supporting volunteers.
  • Experience in fund development and donor relations desired.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills and a track record for sustained measurement of program outcomes, ability to work independently and collaboratively with others to achieve desired results.
  • Certificates and Licenses: Valid drivers license.
  • Computer Skills: Technology savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office suite, web platforms, CRM software, and internet.

Work Environment:

Exposed to typical office environment conditions and noise levels. Frequently required to travel to local, regional, and national events, meetings, or training by car and air travel. Regularly scheduled to work 40 hours per week with some hybrid option; frequently may be required to work more than 40 hours per week to meet deadlines, finish assignments, or attend events and meetings.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
