Job Title: Electrical Estimator

SUMMARY

Electrical Estimator with 5-7 years experience relevant to our industry. Relevant experience would be anything in the infrastructure world that we work in water/wastewater, healthcare, aviation and commercial work. Electrical experience is a MUST.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review and understand all of the project bid documents, the complete scope of work required with sometimes limited information.


• Analyze electrical plans, specifications and other documents to prepare labor, material, and equipment estimates for projects.


• Locate, notify and send bid information to subcontractors and vendors for quotations.


• Complete the estimate takeoff, using on-screen computer estimating, within time deadlines.


• Work as a team with other estimators, managers, other departments.


• Compile and finalize the estimate within time deadline and participate in team reviews with management on bid day.


• Evaluate bids of subcontractors and vendors for completeness of scope of work, schedule, compliance with specifications, or other bid requirements.


• Assist field operations with the estimate after bid award.


• Meet proposal due date schedules.


• Anticipates requirements of producing estimates with little information given.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of electrical construction industry estimating experience.


• Ability to interpret incomplete electrical engineering documents and fill in the missing components.


• Knowledge of local codes and requirements


• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or equivalent required


• Engineering or Construction Management Degree is a plus


• Field experience is a plus

COMPUTER SKILLS

• Direct experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel applications.


• Working knowledge of ConEst Intellibid or related estimating software system.
