About you:
We are looking for a technical expert who thrives in the ambiguity of a start up environment, is mission driven, has an extraordinary passion for space, is a self starter, and a problem-solver.
We are looking to add an Electrical Hardware Engineer to our team who has "cradle to grave" experience with full-lifecycle complex electronic hardware design. This position will have made more than just incremental updates to a design and have experience going from initial requirements captured, through the schematic capture, PCB layout, DFM/DFT and product V&V and release process.
Ideal candidates will have backgrounds at newer EV companies or come from high-volume automotive and consumer electronics backgrounds. Aerospace background is not required as long as candidates exhibit a basic understanding of the unique elements involved in designing avionics for hostile environments.
Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of PCB layout software (KiCad preferred, Altium is fine if you are willing to learn KiCad)
- Understanding of aero/MIL standards relating to PCB/PWB design (IPC-2221, MIL-PRF-31032, NASA-EE-INST-002, AEC-Q100/101/200)
- Detailed understanding of analog/mixed-signal fundamentals
- Experience designing 500+ Watt to multi-Kilowatt DC/DC converters (buck-boost, SEPIC, split-pi topology or similar)
- Experience working with motor control and/or power electronics (gate drivers for IGBT/MOSFET)
- Experience designing mid to high-speed digital hardware (Microcontrollers, CPLD, DSP, System-On-Chip designs)
- Fundamental understanding of EMI and grounding
- Innovative and eager to help create a Cislunar economy - passionate about space
- Understands what is (and is not) needed for high-quality spaceflight systems
- Experience with startups or new space companies
Logistical Requirements: Must be a “U.S. person” as defined by the ITAR (22 CFR §120.15)
Must work out of Mojave, CA
