Position: Electrical Maintenance Technician

Location: Zelienople, PA

Pay: Up to $24.00 based on experience.

Hours: M to F, train on first shift, 7 am to 3:15 pm. Must be able to work 2nd (3:00 pm to 11:15 pm) and 3rd, (11:00 pm to 7 am)

The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the company's business goals and objectives.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities




  •  Adhere to all safety requirements and protocols, consistently ensuring personal safety and that of others.

  •  Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and plant facility’s electrical equipment.

  •  Plan, layout, install and repair a wide variety of complex electrical equipment including automatic machine and process controls, control centers and panels, relays, circuit breakers, electronic controls, and PLC’s.

  •  Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, detect and replace defective control modules, test and make adjustments.

  •  Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines and plant facilities including air compressors, nitrogen lines, and lighting systems.

  •  Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.

  •  Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

  •  Must be capable of wiring prefabricated buildings and offices.

  •  Detect faulty operations, defective material and report these and any unusual situations to proper supervision.

  •  Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

  •  Required to perform other duties as required, directed, or assigned.







Majority of work is performed inside the plant, but workers are exposed to seasonal and welding temperatures. Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oils, fumes and noise. Exposed to a combination of normal office and shop environments





Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities




  •  Use advanced trades mathematics together with complicated drawings and specifications involving thorough technical skill knowledge and application of basic theory.

  •  Must have working experience with 440 industrial electric.

  •  Considerable judgment required to plan and perform unusual and difficult work.

  •  Decision-making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills.

  •  Able to work in a fast paced, self-directed entrepreneurial environment.

  •  Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to read,

  •  evaluate, and interpret prints, drawings, and specifications.





Qualifications / Education




  •  High School Diploma and preferably Technical/Trade School Certificate or Degree.

  •  Prior involvement in fabrication and steel service center required.

  •  Successful completion of an electrical apprenticeship program preferred.

  •  Training in general safety, lock-out tag-out, forklift operation, electrostatic discharge awareness, and foreign object damage awareness.
