A mobile construction equipment manufacturer is looking for an Electrical Systems Engineer to design mobile construction equipment working from our Henderson, NV facility. Successful candidates will be responsible for systems integration, creating electrical schematics, wiring harness design, electrical systems requirements/specifications, simplifying design, cost reduction, driving commonality across sub-systems, etc. Requirements MUST HAVES: - Minimum BSEE or BSME degree or related degree applicable to the position.
- 2-10 years of electrical and/or electronic engineering experience creating electrical schematics, wiring harness design, electrical systems requirements/specifications, simplifying design, and cost reduction.
NICE TO HAVES:
- Experience designing electrical systems using CanBus System is a plus.
- Experience in Electrification, digitalization, and IoT experience.
- Exhibit leadership, integrity, resilience, flexibility in current and new situations, collaboration with subordinates, peers, and management
- Functional knowledge of CANBUS systems, SAE J1939 CAN, and ISO 11783
- Functional knowledge of HMI (Human Machine Interface) displays, joysticks, gauge clusters, implement control systems
- Knowledge of troubleshooting/diagnosing control systems fault codes
- General knowledge of construction or off-road vehicle design and operation
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for electrical systems design including electrical schematics and wiring harness drawings.
- Develops and maintains Electrical Systems Design Guide/Engineering Standards.
- Develops and maintains Wiring Harnesses Design and Installation Guide.
- Creates and maintains electrical parts and sub-systems library.
- Develops electrical systems development project plan for NPD programs.
- Develops Electrical Systems Requirements Specifications.
- Selects electrical components.
- Works closely with the Control System Engineers and the Product Managers to obtain ECU pinouts.
- Creates electrical sub-system diagrams.
- Creates electrical schematics.
- Conducts electrical systems load study to design power distribution and circuit protection systems (fuses, circuit breakers, relays, connectors, wires, cables, etc.).
- Participates in the design processes i.e., DFMEA, PPAP, APQP, etc.
- Routes wiring harness using electrical schematics and 3D product models.
- Creates harness 2-D prints for harness manufacturing.
- Provides all required elements for harness manufacturing (harness prints, cut sheets, etc.).
- Works closely with the Engineering Buyers to procure electrical components.
- Creates wiring harness assembly diagrams for production assemblers.
- Writes Electrical Systems End-of-Line functional test procedure.
- Provides build support during prototype, pilot, and production ramp-up.
- Performs other engineering related duties as assigned and other tasks as requested by management.
