We currently have an exciting opportunity as an Electrician. This role is based in our facility in Lawton and reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Description

We are seeking an energetic individual to handle the safe installation, service and repair of electrical systems and devices within a manufacturing environment. This position will focus primarily on industrial electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and upkeep. These activities are to be conducted while maximizing safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and installing the wiring, conduit and fixtures as needed
  • Troubleshoot, repair and replace drives and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) using electrical schematics, and locate components in machinery
  • Ensure all equipment and electrical devices follow electrical code
  • Accurately label all electrical services and wiring in an easy to understand manner
  • Install and program various types of meters and operator interfaces to maintain machinery withing set parameters
  • Other tasks to include maintenance work beyond electrical work.

Requirements

  • Completion of an Electrician program at a trade/vocational school or post secondary institution is highly preferred
  • Certified/Licensed Electrician or Journeyman is an asset
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical troubleshooting
  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Must have the ability to accurately read and understand multi-meters and ampere meters to check voltage.
  • Must be self-motivated to work independently under minimal supervision and have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to interpret instructions and directions diligently
  • Strong time management, organizational and attention to detail

Working Conditions

  • Requires good mobility and involves considerable routine walking, standing for long periods, bending, and lifting up to a maximum of 50 lbs.

  • Fast-paced environment where a considerable amount of sensory attention is required
