Job Description:

• This is a hardware engineering-oriented system engineer position. The engineer will be part of the vertical system engineering team composed with hardware engineering, software engineering, firmware engineering, FPGA design engineering, signal integrity engineering, and others.
• The IC products to work with include Ethernet PHY, Automotive PHY, SOHO Switch/SoC, high speed SerDes and other data communication products.

Job Responsibilities:

• Participate in the development of hardware platform to assist Datacom product development.
• Design and develop high-speed PCB for customer evaluation. The work includes schematic design, PCB layout assistance, board bring up, debug and system integration.
• Driving resolution of cross-functional issues such as those related to system-level performance, power consumption, EMC, thermal behavior, etc.

Required Skills:

• Design analog and digital electrical/electronic circuits using CAD tools
• Conduct design reviews with multi-discipline teams
• Read and understand Printed Circuit Board layout using Allegro Viewer
• Document using Agile PLM
• Interface with EMC, Safety & Security test labs
• Read and understand 2D & 3D mechanical drawings
• Test & verify Printed Circuit Board Assembly in system
• Analyze and debug circuit board down to component level
• Write rework instructions
• Use soldering iron to repair and replace through-hole and surface mount components
• Build cables and assemble minor circuits on breadboard
• Perform power and thermal characterizations
• Interface with CM & internal manufacturing operations
• Support failure analysis team
• Knowledge of digital multi-meter, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, power supply & electronic load
• Familiar with Microsoft Office tools

Required Education:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

Desired Skills:

• Experience with PCIe adapter & specifications
• Experience with FIPS & PCI/PTS compliant design
