What you will be doing:

As an Eligibility Technician 2 (ET2), you will be part of the statewide Public Assistance Eligibility Team. Together, we will help Alaskan families, elders, and other individuals in need reach higher levels of independence and self-sufficiency by connecting them to the variety of public assistance programs our agency provides.

The working environment you can expect:
This position joins a statewide eligibility workflow team in local Public Assistance offices across the state. The work location is Juneau, at 10002 Glacier Hwy, Ste. 201, Juneau, Alaska 99811.

You will work with other well-trained staff that support our agency mission and values in an environment of mutual respect and trust where management believes the staff is the agencys most valuable resource and is encouraged to participate in decisions affecting their work.

To be successful in this position, you will need the following core competencies:

  • Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of entry-level experience as an Eligibility Technician 1 with the State of Alaska;

OR

One year performing similar work that developed knowledge and skills in applying program requirements and working with client customers in stressful situations.

Substitution:
Post-secondary education in such fields as sociology, social work, psychology, counseling, human services, vocational rehabilitation, developmental disabilities, behavioral sciences, business, public administration, or accounting may substitute for the required experience (undergraduate credits: 2.67 semester/4 quarter hours = 1 month).

Additional Required Information

EDUCATION

It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. WORK EXPERIENCE
When using work experience not already documented in your application, please provide the employer's name, your job title, employment dates, and whether you were working full-time or part-time.
