Job Summary: Executive Medical Director of Emergency Services at Centra Health
Are you ready to lead a dynamic team of healthcare professionals, revolutionize emergency care, and shape the future of patient experience? Centra Health is seeking a visionary Executive Medical Director of Emergency Services to oversee three hospitals and a freestanding emergency room, driving excellence and innovation in emergency medical care.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Spearhead the strategic direction of emergency services across multiple facilities, reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer and working collaboratively with hospital presidents, and operational and nursing leadership. Lead a team of 80 providers to deliver exceptional patient care.
Talent Development and Succession Planning: Cultivate a culture of leadership development by identifying and nurturing emerging leaders within the department. Create and implement a robust succession plan to ensure the continuity of excellence in emergency care.
Patient Flow and Experience: Innovate and optimize patient flow, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for every patient. Implement strategies to enhance patient satisfaction and engagement within the emergency departments.
Interdepartmental Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with hospitalists, surgeons, critical care doctors, and other key stakeholders. Foster clear communication channels to enhance collaboration and improve patient outcomes.
Community Engagement: Establish and maintain effective communication with primary care doctors in the community, promoting collaboration and improving follow-up care for patients after their emergency department visits.
Performance Improvement: Utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement in emergency services. Implement data-driven strategies to enhance clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, and overall departmental performance.

Effective Communication: Demonstrate exceptional communication skills to facilitate crucial conversations and foster collaboration among diverse healthcare professionals.
Coaching and Mentorship: Coach and mentor emergency colleagues to elevate the delivery of care, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. Innovative Leadership: Inspire creativity within the department, encouraging team members to develop and implement groundbreaking ideas to enhance emergency services.

Qualifications:
Medical Degree and Board Certification: Hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution. Board certification in Emergency Medicine is required.
Executive Leadership Experience: Possess a proven track record of successful executive leadership in emergency services.
Clinical Expertise: Demonstrate a deep understanding of emergency medicine practices and protocols, staying current with industry trends, advancements, and evidence-based practices.
Collaborative Leadership Style: Exhibit a collaborative and inclusive leadership approach, fostering strong relationships with multidisciplinary teams, operational leaders, and medical staff.
Strategic Vision and Planning: Have a strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute long-term plans for emergency services, including talent development, succession planning, and performance improvement.
Effective Communication Skills: Possess exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex medical concepts to diverse audiences and facilitate productive conversations.
