We are a family-owned business who has been protecting those who serve us all for over 50 years! We are seeking an experienced creative Emergency Vehicle Technician/Upfitter/Installer for our Patterson, NY facility. Use hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment for the creation and repairing of a wide variety of items created of metal components. This is a FT position M-F 7:00-3:30.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Fabricates variety of metal structures from oral direction, sketches and drawings
  • Fabricate and install special projects
  • Cut and fit parts
  • Ability MIG & TIG, Aluminum, stainless steel & mild steel from sheet metal to structural fabrication a plus
  • Layout, position, align and secure parts prior to assembly
  • Operates safety equipment and use safe work habits.
  • Maintain clean work area and help with keeping the shop clean

Requirements

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Ability to make accurate measurement conversions
  • Follow blueprints and schematics
  • Able to weld components in flat, vertical or overhead positions a plus
  • Good communication skills
  • Must be able to operate shear and brake and other fabricating equipment.
  • Must have own tools (hand and air)
  • Ability to layout and mount fire equipment in an orderly fashion
  • Ability to wire a 12 Volt circuit


Starting salary $20-30/hr DOE
