Job Summary

We are looking for an Endoscopy Technician to join our patient care team. You will work with registered nurses to prepare patients for GI procedures. In addition to prepping the patients, you will also sterilize the endoscope and other equipment. As a valuable member of our patient care team, you must have your Basic Life Support certification, as the responsibilities of this position involve monitoring each patient's vital signs throughout the procedure. Applicants with prior health care experience or technologist training are preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for GI procedures
• Sterilize the endoscope and other equipment before each procedure
• Monitor each patient's vital signs throughout their endoscopy
• Provide assistance removing polyps and taking biopsies
• Ability to troubleshoot and correct technical problems in pressure situations on routine and moderately complex endoscopic equipment.
• Perform processing & high level disinfection of routine & complex endoscopes and high level disinfection or non-disposable equipment.
• Setup, calibrate and troubleshoot laser and cautery equipment, Conduct endoscope culturing program and produce reports of outcomes for departmental CQI program.

Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Basic Life Support certification
• Experience in a GI lab or environment
• Perform processing & high level disinfection of routine & complex endoscopes and high level disinfection on non-disposable equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and correct technical problems on endoscopic equipment.
