Test Engineer
Location: Lanham, MD (1 day a week onsite)
Long Term Contract
IRS and Mainframe experience is must
Roles and Responsibilities:
Develop/Provide input to Test Plan(s) in RQM
Conduct functional and/or integration testing of multiple programs in an IBM mainframe or client/server environment.
Construct test cases with predetermined results and test data to verify program functionality and/or interfaces through RQM.
Review output to determine whether or not the test results fulfill the established requirements
Coordinate test activities with project stakeholders
Coordinate work assignments to ensure timely and accurate completion of testing
Provide inputs on the required testing level of effort for Unified Work Requests.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum Bachelor's degree and 6 years of progressive IT experience
3 years of software testing experience
Must be either a U.S. Citizen or possess a minimum 3 years of residency as a Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) in the U.S.
Must have experience with at least one of the following IRS systems/processes:
Final Integration Testing (FIT)
Systemic Processing (SP)
Individual Masterfile (IMF)
Customer Account Data Engine 2 (CADE2)
Corporate Files Online (CFOL)
National Account Profile (NAP)
IMF Error Resolution System (ERS)
Generalized Unpostable Framework (GUF)
Modernized e-File (MeF)
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of IBM REXX language
Control-M
IBM File Manager skills with maps/templates on ancient data formats/CRL's
Experience with IBM File comparison utilities
Knowledge of standard IBM Utilities and Rational CLM (i.e. compare utilities, Rational Quality Manager (RQM), Rational Team Concert (RTC), etc.)
Software testing or development experience in an IBM mainframe batch processing environment
Working knowledge of updating/executing IBM JCL
Knowledge of industry standard Performance tools
Knowledge of current IRS tax administration software applications and Master File processing is a significant plus
Knowledge of Individual Tax Processing Engine (ITPE) processing
Knowledge of Individual Master File (IMF) transactions and processes
Knowledge of Modernizing and reengineering IMF with object-oriented modular applications using modern programming languages and tools
