Perform all phases of software development including design, implementation, testing, integration, maintenance of software for the company's cell analysis instruments Development and support of GUI, analysis, communications, and instrument control software and firmware Integration of algorithms & mathematical functions for identification and quantification of data collected by instruments Interact with biologists to translate scientific research needs into instrument user stories and requirements Minimum Qualifications Proficient in developing with C, C++ in embedded and application environments Knowledge of current software development best practices including requirements generation, design documentation, and unit testing Good experimentalist 1-2 years of experience in product development or related field BS in Computer Science or equivalent Preferred Qualifications Experience in SQL, schema and database development USB and Ethernet communication protocol experience Experience with Test Driven Development in an Agile environment Experience with Linux, QT, and web based application development Experience with MFC Graphical User Interfaces MS in Computer Science Software Test Engineer - Instrument Control for Mass Spectrometry

Position Summary

An experienced, dynamic and self-motivated individual is required to evaluate and validate state-of-the-art mass spectrometry instruments and software products. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with strong innovative problem solving skills.
You will participate in all phases of the product development from product definition to final release including evaluating instrument control and software applications as a system and its documentation. In addition, will contribute to the maintenance and organization of the PE Instrument Laboratory and the instrumentation therein. Coordinate with the project team to ensure the quality of the product. Communicate project status and issues to other functional teams, partners and management.
