We're currently looking for a Engineering Project Manager to join our growing team of engineering and ergonomics professionals. Details about the role are as follows:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - Working knowledge of project management methodologies, including: scope management, schedule development & integration, risk management, stakeholder management, issue & action item management, cost management
- Experience with automotive vehicle development, major vehicle and powertrain components, and commercial vehicles
- Ability to establish priorities, work both independently and in team settings
- A professional manner with excellent organizational and communication skills to establish working relationships with product development stakeholders
- Self-starter and a detail-oriented team player
- PMI certification (e.g. PMP ) preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES - Lead the development, review and approval of plans and schedules for and across product programs
- Act as liaison between Engineering Program Management and the engineering mechatronics department
- Documenting and maintaining project assumptions, risks, issues, and action items
- Drive deliverable achievement within assigned engineering functional area(s)
- Identify, prioritize and communicate risks with Engineering Program Management and functional areas
- Lead project workshops and meetings, and ensure documentation of results and follow up on open topics
- Prepare and deliver project status reports, presentations and metrics
- Identify Functional Area stakeholders and actively manage needs and expectations
- Ensure visibility and consistent understanding of program content at system and component level, coordination with running product changes, managing program conflicts and escalations
- Provide Examples of automotive project management best practices
- Specific responsibilities include:o Align and maintain the Development & Test Schedules for powertrain systems and componentso Coordinate / facilitate technical reviews and task forceso Assist engineering managers in developing and implementing validation strategies and planso Monitor execution of validation plans, proactively identify potential disconnects, and assist in recovery planning as necessary
Requirements - B.S. or M.S. in Engineering Planning or equivalent
- 5-10 Years experience with Engineering Planning for new product programs
- Knowledge of automotive product development processes (Daimler MDS, CVDS: GM GVDP; Ford GPDS; VW PEP)
