Are you fascinated with project management but don't know where to start or how you'll get the experience you need? Do people naturally gravitate towards you because you are friendly, energetic, and upbeat? If you're nodding your head "yes" then this might be just the opportunity for you to get your foot in the door to the project management world by becoming our newest Entry Level Project Manager in our East Hanover, NJ office.

As part of Encore's mission to be the best fire protection company the industry has ever seen, we have recently joined forces with City Fire Equipment Co. based out of East Hanover, NJ. This partnership not only allows us to expand our footprint and find top talent in the NJ area, it also allows us to work with industry leaders who strive for same level of excellence as we do.

So, let's start by letting you in on a little secret - good or even great project managers don't start their career by being the highly technical subject matter expert. But they do start by having a willingness to learn and an undeniable determination to just go figure it out. That's why at Encore, we are all about hiring for attitude and training for skill.

Encore is an industry leading, full-service fire protection company serving several states in the Northeast with offices ranging from Maine to New Jersey. Over the past 30 years, Encore Fire Protection has developed a time-tested model that combines technical experience, committed customer service, and a straightforward approach to operations and communication. We have a customer first approach to everything we do, and that's why it is imperative that this person has a strong social orientation and a desire to serve people.

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Liaison with contractors and engineers on schedules, permits, inspections, work orders and providing administrative support to the project management team.
  • Preparing and updating project and building files ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Submitting permit applications for Fire Sprinkler, Alarm, and Special Hazards installation projects.
  • Coordinating with project managers to understand what permits need to be submitted and to what governing authority.
  • Actively tracking process of construction process to ensure inspections appointments are coordinated
  • Tracking all upcoming, submitted and completed permit applications
  • Managing and tracking all certificates of insurance ensuring that all coverage levels are in compliance with building standards.
  • Assisting in the preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reports that discuss, in detail, the status of the project.

Requirements

  • The Project Manager role may be entry-level, but we'd encourage anyone who is applying to see this as an entry-point into an organization that truly values ambition and rewards hard work. The only limits to where someone in this position can rise are the ones they put on themselves. Requirements are simple:
  • A friendly and energetic personality that comes across over the phone and in written communication
  • A natural inclination towards putting customers first
  • Willingness to try new things, admit mistakes, adapt and change
  • Impenetrable focus
  • Embraces a team-first attitude
  • Attention to detail that borders on obsessive
  • The ability to defuse situations through empathy and logical problem solving

Benefits

As a company, Encore is hyper-focused on developing a culture that thrives on success and is energized by the fact that we get to make peoples' lives better and safer each day. One of the ways we do this is by generously rewarding all those who contribute to our continued growth. But we also believe that not all rewards are monetary. Here are just a few a few perks that a successful individual in this role can expect:

  • Salary commensurate with experience with opportunity for a results-driven bonus based on personal output and effectiveness in role
  • Purpose and results driven work environment (work smarter not harder)
  • We dress for the objective which means most days we wear jeans but occasionally we wear suits. As long as you know which situations require which (or aren't afraid to ask), you'll be all set!
