Our non-profit client in the Chicago area has a career opportunity for a mission-driven Executive Director who can build on a history of success and push growth into the future. Seeking a dynamic individual, committed to social justice, to lead the organization and execute the strategic plan.LeadershipServes as the primary public representative for the organization with our donors, our partner agencies, the media and peer nonprofits. In this role, the Executive Director will promote the mission, highlight our successes, communicate our needs and build equity in the brand.Mentors, guides and leads the existing staff and consultants. They will work with existing performance-based metrics and develop new metrics to track the teams performance against our mission, strategic plan, and annual budget.Working with the board, they will evaluate staffing needs and ensure we have the human resources required to meet the organizations mission and strategic plan. Responsible for human resources management, including hiring, performance assessment, salary, and work allocation.Works closely with the board to gain access to proper resources to meet the tactical and strategic goals of the organization.Serves as the primary point of contact between the staff and board of directors. They will be responsible for communicating updates on the mission and strategic plan to the board and communicating the boards vision to the staff.Financial ManagementHolds Profit and Loss responsibility for the organization, as overseen by the Board of Directors and supported by the boards Finance Committee.Takes responsibility for creating annual budgets for the organization and working within these budgets.Works closely with the Development Director to put short and long-term fundraising plans in place and make sure that they are met.Operations ManagementManages and oversees the daily operations of the organization, including oversight of vendors, bookkeeper, office space, technology, insurance and contracts.Supervises and oversees Communications staff and (link removed)plianceEnsures that the organization is operating in compliance with all laws and regulations that apply to non-profit organizations.Ensures that the organization and its staff are adhering to the highest ethical standards.Requirements:Excellent planning, organizational and follow-up skills.Experience developing successful grant proposals and fundraising initiatives.Bachelor's degree in human services, business, social services, or equivalent is required.Minimum 7 years of nonprofit management, fundraising, community involvement and team management in the non-profit industry.Experience managing staff working both remotely and in person.Demonstrated professional and mature interaction with staff, volunteers, sponsors, donors and others to engage them toward the achievement of revenue goals.Proven ability to manage multiple projects with varying priorities at one time.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Understanding of volunteer recruitment and management.Ability to effectively speak and present to individuals including high net worthLocation/Office:Hybrid in Oak Park, with some travel to downtown Chicago and around Cook and DuPage counties.
