DEPARTMENT: Corporate Services & Strategic Partnerships

REPORTS TO: Tradeshow Sales & Exhibit Manager

COMPENSATION: $20 - $21/hour

POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The Exhibit Sales Associate is a dynamic, outgoing professional who is customer-focused, positive, productive, and highly motivated to "get the job done." They report to the Senior Vice President - Strategic Partnerships but works closely with and supports the entire Corporate Services and Strategic Partnerships Team. His/her primary function is to take responsibility for post-sale to follow up tasks, administrative requirements, reports, filings, status updates, etc., and assist with workflow to facilitate the delivery of products and services to customers and clients after a sale has been made. The Exhibit Sales Associate is responsible for coordinating the flow of information to other departments and keeping pertinent sections of the Space Foundation website up-to-date.

The Exhibit Sales Associate works proactively to support the varying needs of the team. They help prepare and send sales literature, sponsor/exhibitor updates, correspondence, and any documents to secure new accounts or enhance current ones. They answer telephone and email inquiries regarding all products and services offered by the Corporate Services team.

As an integral part of day-to-day business, the Exhibit Sales Associate will be required to handle administrative tasks such as answering phones, updating information on the website, typing sales letters, reports and proposals, and keeping track of sales-related records and progress reports. As needed, they will update and enter data about customers or prospects into our database.

Prior to and during the Space Symposium, the Exhibit Sales Associate will answer emails and calls from exhibitors and take primary responsibility for ensuring that exhibitors understand how to register their booth personnel and visitors and upload their logo and company description to the MapYourShow dashboard. They will also assist the Senior Director Global Sales with all aspects of trade show move-in and move-out, such as exhibit hall set-up, security, freight, and drayage.

As a member of the Corporate Services team, they will contribute to the team's overall success in all areas of responsibility, including sponsorship, exhibits, corporate membership, and publication sales. In addition, they may be required to demonstrate how specific products and services work and be responsible for ensuring that the customers are satisfied with their purchases or financial investments.

SKILLS:

The Exhibit Sales Associate must maintain a positive approach, be passionate about providing outstanding customer service, and always be professional, courteous, resilient, and patient. Due to the volume of interaction with external customers, this position requires poise, tact, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality when needed. Prior experience providing customer support is critical to this position.

The Exhibit Sales Associate must be driven, highly organized, and develop a strong understanding of the Space Foundation's mission and sales objectives. They should be able to work independently and as a member of a team. Maintaining close communications with team members at remote locations will be key to this individual's success.

Computer literacy and basic website maintenance and administration are essential to this position and knowledge of search engine optimization and HTML. Experience with any of the following is helpful: Hubspot, Capture Technologies IMS System, and MapYour Show. The ability to learn new applications quickly is required.

Strong communication skills are essential. This person must be an expert listener and experienced note taker, able to follow instructions, record important information, and interpret and describe a customer's needs to the appropriate team member. Accuracy and attention to detail are required in all aspects of the position.

This individual must possess the ability to support the Corporate Services team in a fast-paced environment. They must be able to calmly and effectively handle multiple competing tasks and demands resulting from frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.

Must demonstrate experience working independently on special projects and assignments and must consistently meet deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor's degree in business, management, communication, or related field is preferable;

Minimum 4 years work experience in marketing, contract management, business development administration is required;

Familiarity with the aerospace industry and/or related trade associations is desirable;

A demonstrated proficiency in using computers and related software applications, Internet research tools, reporting applications, and various databases is required; and

Superior knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and experience updating basic website information and entering data, is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Individuals in this position will generally work indoors and have a workspace designated solely for him/her. The Foundation will provide necessary office furnishings, equipment, and supplies. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may periodically be required to work outdoors and would be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.

The employee may periodically be required to work in an offsite environment or at special events and from time to time may be asked to travel on Space Foundation business at the Space Foundation's expense.

JOB STATUS:

FLSA Classification: This position is non- exempt according to guidelines of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and, as such, an individual in this position is eligible to receive overtime pay.

Full- or Part-Time: This position is full-time in nature. An individual in this position will regularly work a schedule consisting of 40 hours per week.

Work Location: This position's primary worksite is the headquarters location in Colorado Springs, CO. The nature and responsibilities of this position are such that it is eligible for alternative worksite arrangements, such as working from home or telecommuting, on an occasional, infrequent and/or as-needed basis.*

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
