ABOUT THE ROLE:

Figure8 is seeking Experience Production Designers who will produce the most innovative exhibitions, installations and events. This individual must execute full-scale productions of outstanding quality, staying on-time and on-budget. In this role, you lead production of our newest museum installations from start to finish to create spaces that exemplify exceptional, non-traditional visitor experiences IRL. You will be expected to complete assigned projects short- and long-term with outstanding detail.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Proven ability to serve as the gatekeeper for all installation production deliverables, maintaining production standards and process improvement.
• Proven ability to assist with conceptual through fabrication design.
• Adept at creating accurate spec sheets for each fabrication.
• Adept at creating full-size patterns as required for wood, metal, sculpting, and soft-good fabrication.
• Diligently maintain and update fabrication/aesthetic drawings as required.
• Ability to source specialty contractors as required.
• Work as a key contributor in the RFP response process through budget development, projections and concept ideation.
• Develop and outline project execution in order to optimize a robust production strategy and tactics background.
• Diligently manage and ensure the work and deliverables of production studios, staffing agencies, fabricators and freight companies to execute the final product.
• Identify project risks and prepare solutions and contingency plans.
• Grow our existing vendor database by identifying vendors and production partners, and securing new and innovative vendor partners and fabricators.
• Contribute to the long-term strategy and development of the Experiential Design Department.
• Establish and maintain processes and procedures necessary to keep deliverables on time and on-brand.

Requirements

NECESSITIES:

• You work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; demonstrating an ability to multi-task, prioritize, delegate and apply resources promptly and on a budget.
• You have 3+ years of experience production design
• Intermediate in PhotoShop, Illustrator, Acrobat, CorelDraw, AutoCAD, VectorWorks, SketchUp, Microsoft Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with 3D printing
• Highly organized, team player, knowledge of latest technology and software, critical thinking throughout production, motivated and dedicated to complete multiple tasks at hand.
• Experience in sketching, graphic design, scale drawing, drafting, set design, 3D CAD design.
• You have the flexibility to travel nationwide travel on short notice and temporarily relocate to each Museum of Ice Cream location
• You have excellent internal and external written and verbal communication skills
• You have impeccable organizational skills
• You have proven experience creating and actively managing integrated timelines and budgets
• You have experience working with Project Management Software to oversee the lifecycle of a job (open job numbers, input milestones, track approval flow, etc.)
• You have the experience and knowledge of workflow within a production company, or an in-house creative services agency

The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $125,000 based on experience.
