The Facade Estimator will play a crucial role in accurately estimating costs and preparing competitive bids for aluminum and glazing facade projects.

Job Description:

As the Facade Estimator for Aluminum and Glazing in a pre-cast construction company, you will be responsible for analyzing project specifications, conducting material take-offs, and preparing accurate cost estimates for facade projects. You will work closely with the project management and procurement teams to ensure that bids are competitive and aligned with project requirements. Your expertise in aluminum and glazing systems will contribute to the successful execution of projects while maintaining profitability.

Responsibilities:

Project Analysis:

-Review project specifications, architectural drawings, and other relevant documents to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements.

-Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to identify suitable aluminum and glazing systems for each project.

-Analyze project complexity, material quantities, and project timelines to determine accurate cost estimates.

Cost Estimation:

-Conduct comprehensive material take-offs for aluminum and glazing systems based on project specifications.

-Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

-Research and analyze market prices, supplier quotes, and historical data to ensure cost accuracy and competitiveness.

Bid Preparation:

-Collaborate with the project management and procurement teams to develop competitive bids.

-Prepare clear and detailed bid proposals that highlight the technical and commercial aspects of the aluminum and glazing facade projects.

-Ensure bids are submitted within specified deadlines and in compliance with project requirements and company standards.

-Supplier and Subcontractor Management:

-Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and availability of aluminum and glazing materials.

-Evaluate supplier/subcontractor quotes and negotiate favorable terms and conditions.

-Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.

Cost Optimization:

-Identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering and alternative material solutions.

-Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to optimize designs without compromising quality or performance.

-Continuously evaluate and update cost databases, standard pricing, and estimating tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements:

1.Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.

2.Proven experience as a Facade Estimator, preferably in a pre-cast construction company, with expertise in aluminum and glazing systems.

3.Solid understanding of facade construction, building materials, and construction methodologies.

4.Proficiency in estimating software and tools such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or equivalent.

5.Strong analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.

6.Excellent communication and negotiation skills to collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.

7.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

8.Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to aluminum and glazing systems.
