JOB SUMMARY

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of The Beehive Campus in South Los

Angeles, ensuring that it meets legal requirements and health and safety standards; this includes making sure

that the facility is operating as it should on a daily basis by completing daily inspections and conducting repairs

and maintenance as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Develop and implement strategies, in collaboration with the Events Manager, to efficiently manage and maintain facilities, including sourcing and overseeing contracts

Oversee contracts and relationships with service providers, such as catering, cleaning, parking, and security, to ensure high-quality services are delivered in a cost-effective manner.

Advise senior management on measures to improve facility efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability

Conduct regular inspections and proactive maintenance to ensure the optimal functioning of basic facilities and promptly address any issues or repairs

Manage emergency situations as they arise, coordinating appropriate responses and ensuring the safety and well-being of employees and visitors

Manage budgets of approximately $3 million per year, monitoring expenses, and identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or safety

Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards, codes, and government regulations pertaining to facilities, health, safety, and environmental matters

Collaborate with stakeholders to forecast future facility needs and requirements, assisting in the planning and implementation of necessary changes or expansions

Oversee and coordinate renovations, refurbishments, and building projects, ensuring timely completion within budgetary constraints

Provide support for office relocations and logistics, ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption to business operations

Ensure appropriate opening and closing procedures are followed for the facility, maintaining security protocols and adherence to operational schedules.

Prepare comprehensive maintenance reports, including records of inspections, repairs, and equipment maintenance activities

Undertake additional tasks and projects as assigned by senior management

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

At least five years experience in facilities management for a complex mixed use asset;

Degree in civil engineering or related field strongly preferred;

Proven experience in a leadership position.


SKILLS & ABILITIES

Project management skills;

Good organizational skills;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with the ability to multitask in a fast paced, demanding environment;

Exceptional interpersonal skills and the desire to provide best in class service at all times;

Superb time management skills.
