Serves as manager of facilities administration & operations for the College of Education & Human Ecology supervised by a member of the college Executive Council. Coordinates, reviews, analyzes, evaluates, and audits College of Education & Human Ecology facilities, safety plans, OSHA & ADA compliance, and related issues. Supports administrative, academic, and research agenda facilities operations for 3 departments and administration across space in 15 separate locations, on and off-campus, including leased space. Consults with human resources and EHE departments and centers on all employee positions related to facility operations.

Prepares requirements for and coordinates renovation of space and new construction, including managing swing space operations and relocations. Responsible for space inventory, planned maintenance and renewal schedules, and building coordinators. Serves as liaison to university-level facilities operations. Produces reports on space utilization and projects space needs. Responsible for creating strategic facilities plan for long-term improvements in consultation with the administration. Manages operational and maintenance budget while providing input to the capital planning process. Develop policies and procedures for space evaluation, allocation, renovation, and office moves. Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience: Bachelors degree in architecture, Engineering, City or Regional Planning, or equivalent combination of education and experience related to educational and research space utilization and safety. Ability to coordinate with various university departments to determine and resolve conflicts. Strong written and verbal communication and leadership skills. Experience in space planning, capital budgeting, or cost estimating. Experience utilizing AutoCAD. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Desired Experience: Experience in planning higher education facilities is desired. Knowledge of university facilities, space, organization, policies, operations.

35% Responsible for general administration and operation of EHE facilities including initiating Space Requests, Small Renovation Budget requests, Capital Plan project requests, and renovation and construction requests for the College. Participates in planning capital projects, renovation and construction services, furniture acquisition, and space relocation planning, including swing space. Manages budgets associated with these projects.

35% Provides support to Dean, Schools, Departments and Centers on facilities issues. Responsible for creating strategic facilities plan for long-term improvements in consultation with the administration. Reviews project plans and specifications; studies space need problems and recommends solutions. Prepares program requirements for construction or renovation of space. Prepares facilities cost and budget estimates. Develops and periodically updates long term space needs and renovation plans.

20% Develop policies and procedures for space evaluation, allocation, renovation, and office moves. Oversee processes to collect requests from EHE faculty and staff, evaluate needs vs. resources, develop budget estimates, and escalate complex concerns to college leadership for final determinations. Employee remains knowledgeable of university space allocation models and leverages this knowledge in daily work.

10% Responsible for assignment of College building coordinators and communication of relevant issues to ensure maintenance and safety of facilities. Coordinates key and card access control for the College. Serves as College liaison with: Facilities Operation and Development; Real Estate & Property Management, OAA, Environmental Health & Safety, OSHA, Transportation & Parking, Departments & Schools, and Property Managers. Prepares and communicates relevant information. Assists with special projects, other duties as assigned. Manages leased space planning and issues, including reviewing and negotiations of lease agreements, resolution of tenant & landlord issues. Maintains and updates College space inventory. Responsible for annual University space inventory audit for the college. Produces and disseminates space data; analyzes trends. Other duties as assigned.

The Target Hiring Range for this position is $73,100 - $97,500
