Position: Tax Advisor

Location: Remote (United States candidates only) with occasional travel to various exciting destinations.

Diverse Challenges: Expect a broad spectrum of challenges, from analyzing financial, gift, trust, estate, and income tax issues to ensuring S Corp stock basis calculations and managing sales/use tax compliance.

Lead Strategic Projects: Take the lead in high-impact strategic projects such as 174 readiness and transfer pricing.

Your Responsibilities

Trusted Advisor: Serve as the trusted advisor to the family office and its companies on strategic tax and financial matters.

Innovative Tax Planning: Interact closely with companies to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise.

Comprehensive Tax Expertise: Provide analyses of financial, gift, trust, estate, and income tax issues.

Maintain Compliance: Maintain S Corp stock basis calculations and handle sales/use tax compliance.

Quarterly Estimates: Prepare quarterly estimates of taxes due.

Payroll Tax Guidance: Guide HR on payroll tax compliance and advise executives on tax consequences.

Tax Audits: Be the point person for responding to IRS and state notices and serve as the tax audit representative.

Lead Strategic Projects: Lead and organize strategic projects such as 174 readiness and transfer pricing.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree: A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: 5+ years of tax experience.

Certification: An active CPA certification.

Preferred / Nice To Have

Global Exposure: Exposure to Canadian and Australian tax returns, transfer pricing, and GST.

Advanced Education: A master's degree in taxation.

Accounting Skills: Experience with GL accounting in NetSuite.

Industry Knowledge: Exposure to SaaS, security, real estate, ranching, and beverage/CPG industries is a plus.

Stock Options: Experience with stock options.
