Field Service Applications Specialists for AB Sciex LLC d/b/a SCIEX in Framingham, MA to maintain, install and repair Sciex products at both internal and external customer sites, including strategic accounts. This position works independently to resolve all assigned customer and technical issues. Specific duties include: Act as a resource for general applications support and troubleshooting with applied focus to LCMSMS platforms and their usage in current markets. Partners with Sales and Service management to drive customer satisfaction and business objectives. Partners with Technical Operations to resolve regional escalations. Mentors, develops, and certifies service associates. Responsibilities include: providing feedback to the Service Product Manager’s by performing internal product and documentation testing/review; maintaining current market competency, and understanding and anticipating customer needs; applying advanced applications workflow expertise and knowledge of Sciex and OEM products; performing high quality installation, repair and maintenance on mass spec and chromatography workflows; Strategic responsibility for customer and key account support as assigned by manager; Performing IQ/OQ and other qualification products; conducting training; identifying resource and training needs; mentoring and training associates; performing preventive maintenance on select products; maintaining tool and parts inventory to ensure adequate supply; assisting District/Process Manager with coordinating background work and leading technical discussions for applications related regional/global escalations including onsite as required; troubleshooting and resolving difficult service/applications including escalated situations both within assigned accounts as well as across the district/region. Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus three (3) years of experience as a service engineer, technical specialist or related occupation involving field service engineering, technical customer support, or laboratory experience with analytical or Life Science instruments. Experience must include: Setting up, testing, and verifying equipment performance utilizing hand tools, multimeters, air pressure sensors, air flow meters, and diagnostic software as well as hazardous solvents and proprietary chemical standards; Repairing equipment and diagnosing equipment failures utilizing diagnostic software and specialized diagnostic tools that assess magnetic and electrical fields, fluid engineering, and chemical compound composition and reaction; Operating mass spectrometers and liquid chromatography systems; Providing customer service and account management for a scientific or engineering manufacturer or equivalent company; Training customers in the use mass spectrometers and liquid chromatography systems; Sale of scientific instruments, service contracts, instrument accessories, and/or instrument consumable products; Performing installation qualifications services on scientific instrumentation; Interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution-based service process; Assisting with special projects, identifying resources and training needs; and Applying Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
