Finance Director, BCW, New York Based

The Role:

BCW is seeking to hire a Finance Director reporting to both North America CFO and New York Market Lead. The Finance Director (FD) of BCW, New York will play the leading finance role supporting the continued growth of New York by overseeing and managing a best-in-class finance, accounting and controls functions.

The FD plays a critical role in developing and implementing financial resources to maximize the commercial operations of the Company. As a member of the leadership team, the FD will help develop and manage the strategic financial and operational objectives. They will be responsible for overseeing all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities, helping drive commercial best practice to maximize revenues and drive cost efficiencies. They will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with SOX and international accounting standards (IAS). They will be the lead finance Person for NY supporting the rapidly transforming and evolving needs of the business and team.

The Work:

  • Managing the financial and commercial element of meetings with leadership to ensure alignment behind financial objectives.
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations for the entire financial reporting and forecasting process. Key success factors will be to increase efficiencies in the process and standardize reporting.
  • Oversee budgeting and implementation of budgets to monitor progress and present financial metrics both internally and externally.
  • Oversee the development of operating and capex budgets and financial plans, including the responsibility to maintain forecast and track actual results and ensure management decisions can be based on forecasts and analyses.
  • Manage working capital and forecasting.
  • Responsible for the implementation of accounting policies and procedures, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), WPP Internal Audit Reports.
  • Develop and manage time reporting and client profitability.
  • Collaborate with other members of the BCW, New York leadership team and BCW worldwide headquarters finance group.
  • Work with others (FDs, MDs, CFO, Exec team, and Practice leaders) on large RFP responses when appropriate.
  • Develop a strong relationship with HR, including collaboration and reviews of resource needs (e.g., hires, temp help), approvals, annual salary planning, and related items.

Experience that Contributes to Your Success:

The FD will be a growth-oriented leader with at least 8-10 years of broad finance experience. The candidate must have acquired the skills and experience to be able to lead the financial function within a fast paced, rapid growth environment and be capable of making actionable recommendations to senior leadership.

  • A minimum of a bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA / MBA preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills.
  • Experience in a consumer and/or professional service businesses that operate within a complex holding company environment.
  • Strong and proven accounting / financial leadership.
  • Smart and strategic with a client-first mentality and is service orientated.
  • Ability to work under pressure in an environment with constantly changing priorities.
  • An effective communicator with strong oral and written skills and a willingness to share information.
  • Desire to work in a diverse and inclusive organization as an active participant in culture initiatives, training opportunities and employee resource groups

In New York City, the base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $125,000.00 to 295,000.00 Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
