Novel Capital ((link removed)) is a fintech startup providing innovative revenue-based capital products to transform how companies fund their growth. Our innovative platform provides financing to tech and subscription companies that in many cases dont fit the traditional banking or venture-capital equity models.

We are hiring a Fintech Content Marketing Specialist to bring the voice of Novel to life in the written word. Responsible for creating assets that support the brand, demand generation, and product marketing - the ideal candidate will be excited by how voice, tone, and narrative work to create a brand that engages B2B customers. Were looking for someone who:

  • Can Tell a Story(link removed) You understand that humans dont respond to just words on the page, but the story that those words create. You think about what story our target audiences need to hear and find just the right words to draw them in.
  • Understands Startups. You live and breathe early-stage startups, you wouldnt want to be anywhere else, and can create content that speaks to the business challenges early-stage startup Founders face.
  • Wants to Grow(link removed) This role starts as a writer and has room to grow into owning the content strategy across the marketing functions in the organization. Youll learn by doing and with guidance from our leadership continue to develop yourself and the role over time.

Passion for entrepreneurship, venture, and early-stage tech founders is essential. A willingness to learn about the FinTech market and finance concepts is critical.

Ideal candidates will be excited by a fast-paced startup environment and find intrinsic reward in an unstructured environment where individuals own their actions and have an outsized impact. This role reports to the VP of Marketing and will work on projects that have visibility at the company leadership level.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop content and marketing materials to support the marketing & sales functions, including demand generation and driving pipeline.
  • Maintain brand voice and positioning across all content and messaging. Utilize your unique point of view to continue to adapt and evolve messaging to better capture the attention of our target audience and position Novel as the leader in their category.
  • Develop content calendars and maintain production timelines across our blog articles, social media, and website. Be able to publish content once finalized.
  • Own SEO traffic growth by creating content Google just loves, utilize our SEO tools to help drive content creation and keyword strategy across the website to improve rankings.
  • Own the external social marketing planning, posting, and monitoring across owned social channels, as well as enabling internal employees to share content on their own accounts.
  • Ghostwrite content for Executive Team as needed (social, blogs, articles, quotes, etc.), maintain voice, tone, and professionalism.
  • Develop content for nurture sequences or newsletters, leveraging existing content and articles. Be willing to help execute on email creation and sending in Hubspot or MailChimp as needed.
  • Ensure that all campaign communications are error free, clean, approved, and ready for external consumption. Support investor communications as needed.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in handling multiple projects, changing priorities, and deadlines while maintaining high standards for quality and detail.
  • Leverage reporting tools and platforms to continuously measure and analyze what content and materials are working and what is not to make the necessary adjustments.

Requirements

  • 1+ years in a B2B marketing role with proven examples of generating best-in-class content that fuel revenue growth and/or customer adoption.
  • Degree in English, Marketing an equivalent, or a killer portfolio of varied writing samples. Minor in Entrepreneurship or Finance a plus.
  • Stellar content writing experience in various formats including but not limited to: emails, web copy, short form (ex. ads), mid-form (ex. Blog posts or articles) and long-form (ex. whitepapers).
  • Able to work independently with minimal initial direction and solve the challenge put in front of you (even if that means doing some extra research). Must have an appetite for knowledge, embracing new skills quickly.
  • Can quickly act on feedback and set clear expectations on delivery of requested assets, with clear communication about any roadblocks.
  • A track record of success working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while maintaining a goal-oriented approach to their work.

The location preference for this position would be Kansas City with consideration given for other US locations (remote).
