Fixed Income Research Analyst - London (Hybrid)


We have an exciting opportunity for a fixed income research analyst to join our global fixed income research team. The position is based in London. The role involves working with the wider team to assess and evaluate fixed income markets, and to analyse and form opinions on Investment Managers fixed income strategies, in order to provide advice to the full spectrum of Mercer clients.

The role is varied and will involve both analytical input as well as contact with a wider range of internal and external contacts, at all levels.

What can you expect?


Working as part of a team supporting more experienced analysts and researchers in all aspects of Mercer manager research investments work. Providing high level analytical support on a wide variety of products, markets and managers.

Providing support to the research team in meeting the needs of clients including analytics, strategic research etc.

Carry out analytical/research work as directed by research team, including the performance monitoring of managers.

Co-ordinating work for one or more of the Rating Reviews Committees and ensuring integrity of ratings details on GIMD.

Preparation and maintenance of manager research schedules and co-ordination of client commissioned research.

Contributing to the wider research process and proactively offering contributions and ideas to manager research team.

Dealing with routine queries from investment managers/consultants as appropriate.

Support in marketing/new business initiatives.

What you will need to have:


Relevant experience in a similar role

A BA/BS degree in finance, economics, or other business-related subject

An interest in pursuing the (or already be qualified as a) Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)

Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem solving ability.

Strong IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel

A team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent planning and organisational ability in order to prioritise and complete work in accordance to deadlines

Good relationship and stakeholder management skills
