- Ability to study the composition and properties of hair color and hair care products
- Ability to evaluate formulas, interpret results and communicate improvements
- Ability to use and operate laboratory equipment and instruments
- Color matching experience required
- Experience with powder dispersion & emulsions required
- Mathematical skills in calculation are paramount
- Impeccable multi-tasking, organization, and time management skills
- Critical thinking skills & solid independent decision making abilities
- Excellent collaboration skills
- A strong team player with a positive and professional attitude and a strong bias for action to solve challenges
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills
- Ability to attend meetings and seminars as requested and report on content
- Ability to supervise technicians, entry-level chemists and temporary employees as company expands
- Ability to provide technical advice, support, guidance and development to less experienced team members
- Willing to travel internationally (primarily for training purposes)
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, BioChemistry, Chemical Engineering
- Preferred: Experience in R&D Hair Color Lab
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience required
