We are seeking to hire a Formulation Technician to join our Formulations team If any of the below describes you, we would love to meet you! Job Summary The Formulation Technician will report to the Associate Director of Formulations and will assist the R&D Formulations staff with product development activities from small scale to commercial batch production. The Formulation Technician should be someone with a keen interest in life sciences or drug manufacturing. This is a developmental role where training is provided, offering an opportunity to learn various techniques of drug manufacturing including dispensing, blending, granulation, compression and coating. Responsibilities
- Perform GMP and Non-GMP batch manufacturing utilizing R&D and commercial scale equipment
- Set-up of R&D and commercial equipment
- Operation of batch production
- Cleaning of R&D and commercial equipment per written SOP cleaning procedures
- Ordering and dispensing of API and excipients
- Maintaining accurate records of all experiments. Must make detailed observations of experiments and document the observations legibly in laboratory notebooks.
- Safe handling of flammable solvents following written procedures
- Authoring R&D batch records
- SOP and OIM review and editing
- GMP batch record review and editing
- Equipment installation and troubleshooting
- Minor equipment research and purchasing
- Project batch parameter spreadsheet generation and tracking
- Minor project management
- Other work as assigned
Requirements - Bachelors Degree in a scientific or engineering discipline with 1+ years experience in a pharmaceutical environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Pharmaceutical experience is required.
- Basic laboratory equipment utilization experience is a plus, such as sonic sifter, bulk/tap density, disintegration tester, and microscope with photo capabilities.
- Interest in and ability to learn R&D and commercial high shear granulation, fluid bed granulation and Wurster coating, blending, commercial roller compaction, and compression.
