Furniture Installer/Delivery Driver

Job Description

The job duties of a furniture delivery driver revolve around leading in the process of loading, transporting, and unloading furniture. Your responsibilities in this position include checking client orders and ensuring that the correct product is loaded into the truck before departure and delivered to the client safely, ensuring no damages to the product or customer property; while providing excellent customer service. The Driver will plan their route each day to meet scheduled delivery time frames, while communicating with dispatch of any route discrepancies.

Duties and Responsibilities

The job duties and responsibilities of a furniture delivery driver revolve around working to load, transport, and unload furniture.

  Driver is responsible to inspect truck for defects before and after trips and reports any discrepancies indicating truck condition to supervisor

  
  


• 
  

  Checking client orders and ensuring that the correct items are loaded, padded and safely secure into the truck before departure

  
  


• 
  

  Driver will plan their route each day and schedule deliveries to ensure they meet specified time frames

  
  


• 
  

  Driver will deliver furniture into the client’s home or office and/or pick up and transport furniture away as well

  
  


• 
  

  Take great care of our customers through professional, timely service safely and efficiently

  
  


• 
  

  Driver will operate the box truck safely, obeying traffic laws and being aware of road conditions and safety hazards

  
  


• 
  

  Inspect, repair, wrap, pack, and load furniture

  
  


• 
  

  Interact with customers and team members in a courteous and professional manner

  
  


• 
  

  Ensure safety of customers and team members and maintain vehicles

  
  


• 
  

  Adhere to strict quality standards to provide the best customer experience possible

  
  


• 
  

  Warehouse duties (including but not limited to loading/unloading, organization, merchandising, cleaning, etc) when not on deliveries

  
  

Skills and Specifications  

• 
  

  Experience with operating 26’ box trucks

  
  


• 
  

  Familiar with delivering procedures  

  
  


• 
  

  Product knowledge and experience in residential and office furniture assembly

  
  


• 
  

  Effective time management skills, able to maintain daily time frames and manage any changes

  
  


• 
  

  Able to read, write & effectively communicate verbally in English (bilingual a plus)  

  
  


• 
  

  Flexible to work various hours & overtime as needed 

  
  


• 
  

  Must be 21 years of age or older

  
  


• 
  

  Clean Driving record

  
  


• 
  

  Able to pass D.O.T. physical, background check (NO FELONIES) and pre-employment drug screening.

  
  

Physical Requirements

  Ability to lift up to 50lbs safely (Furniture)

  Able to ascend and descend stairs  

  
  


• 
  

  Able to squat, bend, stoop, push, kneel and reach  

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to sit, stand & walk for prolonged periods  

  
  

Qualifications  

• 
  

  2 - 3 years work related experience  

  
  


• 
  

  Must pass pre-employment background (No Felonies), D.O.T. physical and drug screen  

  
  


• 
  

  Possess valid driver’s license and clear motor vehicle report 

  
  

Work Schedule 

Monday thru Friday, 7:00 AM start time unless informed otherwise by routing manager; interested candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule and overtime hours as required by business operations with occasional overnite routes
