GL Accounting Supervisor

(Warsaw office)

As part of the Warsaw Accounting Operations hub, this role will supervise a team (up to max of 10 people) within the Record to Report (R2R) function, with extensive offshore support based in India. The function will provide accounting services to more than 30 countries within the EMEA region, across all MMC operating companies.

We will count on you to:

Provide day-to-day supervision for the team and oversee all operational activities of the R2R function within the defined control environment, recognized business processes, and tight reporting deadlines
Assist in establishing a service culture that is efficient, effective, and focused on delivering results; this includes driving continuous process efficiency through strong change management and performance measurement
Act as a champion for change activities that align with the global Accounting Operations vision
Support the maintenance of a robust control environment and ensure compliance with all relevant standards
Review all balance sheet reconciliations within the team's scope and assist with expectation reporting and quality checks
Delegate, review, approve, and occasionally prepare requests for ad hoc analysis of various types of financial information, utilizing operational and financial analytics as appropriate for the situation
Ensure all month-end, quarterly, and yearly tasks and deliverables are completed and controlled
Continuously monitor and meet the developed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
Assist with auditors and audit requirements, including SOX testing
Oversee and actively manage any applicable projects that may arise from time to time, including future transitions


What you need to have:

A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a large shared services or financial management environment, with particular focus on experience in general ledger
A proven people management experience (minimum 1-2 years)
Working knowledge of ERP Accounting systems e.g. Oracle Financials
A University degree in the field of finance, accounting, or economics or recognised Accounting qualification e.g. ACCA

A very good command of English a must
