The Opportunity
We are looking for a talented Game Publishing Specialist to join our publishing team, based in Honolulu. Publishing at KOMODO is both a creative and scientific endeavor with the ultimate goal of helping the developers we work with successfully create and ship games that delight customers, which also includes the titles we are developing in-house.
A successful candidate will love games, have a keen business sense, possess strong time and project management skills, work well with other teams such as marketing and design, and prioritize the player experience. This role requires listening to customer and developer needs, diplomacy skills, a clear communication style, and a methodical approach to publishing games that continuously evolve over time.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full life cycle of multiple gaming titles
- Maintain strong relationships with key partners and achieve alignment in sales, marketing, and technical areas together with them
- Cooperate with internal and external stakeholders to provide the essentials of game production such as community management, marketing, localization, QA, and press
- Develop pricing and discount strategies for games
- Manage game communities and provide actionable feedback to developers on game features that improve the player experience
- Identify promising game studios and talented developers to work with on publishing future titles
- Use of tools for Steam and other publishing platforms for managing store pages
Requirements
- Fluent in English or Japanese
- Passion for gaming with excellent knowledge of the industry
- 3+ years of professional experience in a relevant field (PC and/or console gaming)
- Excellent project management skills and attention to detail
- Articulate verbal and written communicator
- Great at brainstorming creative ideas in a group setting
- Ability to communicate effectively with an artist
- Detail-oriented self-starter who craves responsibility
- Experience negotiating and concluding contracts from templates a plus
- An intuitive understanding of what makes gaming communities thrive
