Job Title: General Accountant (Contract)

Location: Knoxville TN (Remote work available)

Duration: 12 Months

Hours per Week: 40.00

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and complex accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Support the Controller's office and tax department in resolving questions related to financial statements.
• Provide oversight for outsourced accounting firm activities and provide feedback on their performance.
• Identify and recommend process transformation opportunities, leading implementations when necessary.
• Participate in special projects that enhance efficiencies and streamline department processes.
• Ensure consistent application of financial controls.
• Maintain process documentation and policies for established financial controls.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong initiative, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Minimum of 5 years of business experience, preferably in accounting.
• Experience working with SAP or other ERP systems is beneficial.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced Degree, CPA, or CMA is a plus.
• Experience with financial statement preparation is a plus.

Additional Information:

• Remote work option available.
• Experience with Derivative Accounting is highly desired but not required.
• Familiarity with Quantum, SAP, or other ERP environments is helpful.
