General Contractor with Class A Virginia License DPOR

N-Tier Disaster Recovery Solutions is a full-service mitigation, restoration, reconstruction, and new construction company. We are an authorized and approved vendor with all the major insurance companies who send us their insurance property claims as well as the top three third-party vendors (Crawford Contractor Connection, Alacrity, Sedgwick). We have recently opened an office in Abingdon, Virginia and are in need of a General Contractor with a Class A license in Virginia to be our qualifier and Senior Project Manager (as our license in North Carolina does not reciprocate with Virginia).

This person will also be the Lead Project Manager for all projects assigned to our company and work with the subcontractors and staff for all repairs and rebuilds.
The General Contractor will oversee the day-to-day operations of their projects, manage vendors/suppliers, and keep everyone informed about project timelines.
Supervise the operations or construction process onsite.
Act as the point-of-contact between the client and the construction staff.
Submit a project estimate or bid that covers labor, materials, equipment, and overhead management costs.
Verify the insurance and licenses of everyone who needs a license to practice their trade.
Source and order project-related materials and coordinate with suppliers to guarantee timely and accurate delivery of the necessary materials.
Throughout the project, keep the client and other relevant parties informed about the project's status.
Maintain the project's schedule while making sure the project is completed to a high standard in the allotted period and budget.
Manage construction staff; assist in hiring and onboarding new staff.
Assist the construction staff and/or perform some of the work to complete tasks.
Ensure safety guidelines are followed.
Manage necessary documents such as obtaining blueprints, filing and obtaining permits and etc.
Schedule project inspections.
Coordinate with the Accounting Department to manage and compensate all project participants, including suppliers and subcontractors.
Make sure the punch list is complete.

Requirements:
Must have a valid Virginia General Contractors license Class A
Has extensive experience in the construction industry, ideally both in the commercial and residential domains.
Hands-on skills such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, roofing or water mitigation is preferred.
Can read and interpret blueprints.
Well-informed of the latest building codes and regulations.
Familiar with constructions tools and equipment.
Excellent leadership, time management and problem-solving skills.
Able to stay organized.
Able to stay on schedule and within budget.
Clear and effective communication skills.
