Requirements THE POSITION: The General Counsels primary areas of responsibility are: - Real estate auction legal support, including providing legal advice on applicable real estate auctioneer licensing and real estate brokerage licensing in applicable jurisdictions.
- Managing litigation and arbitration matters and outside litigation counsel.
- Negotiating and drafting auction agreements with property owners and bidders; (iv) assistance with collection matters
- Collaboration with parent company/joint venture companies legal departments
- Reporting and communicating regular updates of claims matters to parent company/joint venture companies risk management departments
- Providing general legal support to the management team of Concierge Auctions.
- Responsibility for legal support with respect to real estate auctions.
- Work closely with compliance department to ensure maintenance of required licenses or other regulatory requirements of applicable jurisdictions where the company conducts auctions and/or where the applicable real properties are located.
- Manage real estate litigation and arbitration matters and outside litigation counsel.
- Draft and negotiate client contracts including auction agreements, bidder packages and bidder terms and conditions.
- Assist with collections efforts.
- Provide general legal support to the organization with respect to primary areas of responsibility and other legal areas as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of laws affecting the company.
- Work on other special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/SELECTION CRITERIA: - Education: Juris Doctor degree
- Licensing: A current license to practice in New York
- Minimum 5 years of experience, with at least 1 year of real estate experience.
- Experience with auction regulations preferred. Admitted as a member of the New York, California Bar or other applicable State Bar.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated experience with contract drafting and negotiation.
- Excellent communication skills, including strong oral, written and consultative skills.
- Leadership skills as demonstrated by the ability to manage and influence others.
