General Hosting Support (Remote- Eligible)

Were looking for a driven and solution-minded individual who will work closely with project managers and developers to support our technical hosting needs. Ultimately, you will be a person our team members and clients trust. They will rely on you to provide informed hosting recommendations, translate difficult concepts into human terms and deliver effective solutions to technical challenges.

While we value your years of experience, we care more about your curiosity and range of knowledge in different applications and languages. Were looking for someone with:

• A deep understanding of technology infrastructure, cloud hosting solutions, security concepts and platforms
• Strong knowledge of application layer protocols (including HTTP, SSH, TLS, DNS, PHP, MySQL, etc.)

• An understanding of the ecosystem between the application and hosting infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Help to maintain, audit and improve security across our corporate network, and cloud services
• Provide hosting recommendations, quotes, and launch planning

• Lead website stress/performance testing and make recommendations for corrective actions
• Review application and server logs to resolve technical issues and identify potential security concerns
• Advise teams on security standards, methodology and processes
• Help formalize our program for monitoring application and infrastructure performance

• Help to identify new services and areas of support for both internal and external IT initiatives

Requirements

While certifications are nice, it is not a deciding factor for this position. We care more about the following skills and experience:

MUST HAVE

• 3+ years of PHP development***
• 2+ years of Dev/Ops support
• 2+ years of working with Linux server*
• 2+ years working with VM and PAAS hosting vendors
• Experience working with CI/CD implementations
• Experience working with Terraform
• Experience working with one or more of the following: Drupal, WordPress, Sitecore, and Node.js

NICE TO HAVE

• Working knowledge of different database types: MySQL / MariaDB, SQL, NOSQL
• Working with Python Click or other Python CLI tools

• Knowledge of common web application vulnerabilities (XSS, DDoS, SQL Injection, etc.)
• Experience working with Docker
