ABOUT
Neighborhood began five years ago as a family-owned cafe in the heart of Hollywood started by two brothers with a passion for coffee. Weve built our brand on the simple premise that delicious specialty coffee can be served in a warm, welcoming, familial environment. Our shops are designed around the concept of hygge, a Danish term for a quality of coziness and conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment. In addition to the care taken with our physical spaces, we approach this goal by assembling a passionate team of people comfortable practicing lean-in hospitality while possessing a skill and passion for quality coffee. In April of 2023 we opened our second shop on 3rd Street and are looking for a General Manager to oversee the daily operations of each store in addition to helping maximize the efficiencies of having multiple cafes.
The shops serve direct trade and organic coffees from multiple best-in-class roasters. We feature a full espresso menu highlighted by specialty drinks made with hand-crafted syrups and nitro lattes on tap. While we do not have a full kitchen, we do serve pastries and desserts sourced from the best local bakeries, and stock a variety of healthy snacks, most often sourced from the local farmers markets.
We are seeking a GM who will continue our mission of creating a warm and welcoming environment, who leads by example, and upholds our standard for high-quality, excellent tasting coffee every single day. We also seek a partner who is excited to advance ongoing initiatives around organization and cleanliness all while helping achieve profitability goals and bringing new ideas to the table as to how we can continuously improve.
You will be leading a team of 10+ amazing and dedicated people involved in daily operations across two busy cafes, in addition to being part of the leadership group working to grow the company by opening additional shops, expanding the retail platform, and eventually roasting coffee.
This position reports directly to ownership, with whom the GM will have daily contact.

- Managing menus and new offerings
- Shifts on bar when necessary
- Manage staff accountability, growth, delegation
- Staff Reviews
- Institute and oversee training program
- Communication and conflict resolution
- Cafe cleanliness, organization and maintenance
- Event planning and execution
- Safety and Health Department Compliance
- Digital platform oversight (Square, Doordash)
- Overseeing equipment maintenance

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Specialty coffee experience
- Cafe / Service Industry Management Experience Required
- Ability to work 40+ hours per week and full schedule availability
- Food Manager Certification Card or willing to attain within 30 days
- Reliable transportation
- Proficient with email, google drive, slack, Microsoft office
