Job Description Durian Industries Limited, a leading player in the furniture manufacturing and sales industry, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Godown Incharge in Chennai. The Godown Incharge will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations, including stock management, daily dispatches, inward stock handling, and maintaining accurate stock records. Responsibilities Stock Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, including incoming and outgoing stock. Ensure proper storage and organization of furniture products in the godown. Dispatch Coordination: Coordinate with sales and logistics teams to ensure timely. dispatch of orders to customers. Prepare dispatch schedules, allocate resources, and monitor dispatch activities to meet delivery deadlines. Inward Stock Handling: Receive incoming stock shipments from suppliers and vendors. Verify the quantity and quality of received goods against purchase orders. Document discrepancies and coordinate with procurement team for resolution. Stock Keeping: Implement efficient stock keeping practices to optimize space utilization and minimize stock shrinkage. Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts to reconcile physical stock with system records. Quality Control: Inspect incoming and outgoing stock for damages, defects, or discrepancies. Take necessary actions to address quality issues and ensure adherence to quality standards. Documentation: Maintain proper documentation of all warehouse transactions, including receipt vouchers, delivery challans, and stock transfer notes. Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and warehouse procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling of hazardous materials if applicable. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent qualification. Proven experience in warehouse operations, preferably in the furniture or manufacturing industry. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in using inventory management software or ERP systems.
