Government Mortgage Underwriter – Overland Park, KS (Remote Okay)

Compensation Range

$80,000 – 95,000 annually + Bonus + OT

About the Role

This is a unique underwriting opportunity to join a tight knit, professional team that is an autonomous part of a mid-size community bank. The team has worked together for several years and has a strong pipeline of referral relationships for both purchase and refinance business. Currently, the organization has two underwriters one of which currently has FHA and VA designations but due to volume we need another underwriter with these qualifications.

The client is looking for a long-term player to join the team and the family. The culture is an even keel, warm place to work and a friendly attitude and approach. This is not the turn-and-burn culture you find in many of the larger outfits.

We are looking for someone with some of these qualifications and qualities:

• DE / SAR designations – we need this


• 5+ years mortgage underwriting preferred but don’t rule yourself out if it is less


• Plays well with others – very important


• Familiarity with Encompass is great
