We are seeking an experienced Government Sales Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of government procurement protocols and channels, including the application process and necessary documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with government agencies at the federal, state, and local levels
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive government sales strategy that aligns with our business goals and targets key government agencies and departments
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of government sales opportunities, leveraging existing relationships and developing new ones through targeted outreach and networking
  • Manage the entire sales process, from lead generation to contract negotiation and execution
  • Understand the needs and requirements of government customers, and effectively communicate how our products/services meet those needs
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing and product development, to ensure that we are delivering products and services that meet the needs of government customers
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in government regulations and policies that may impact our business
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, including contracts and proposals
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities in the government procurement landscape
  • Engage with government stakeholders to understand their needs and challenges, and position our products and services as solutions to these issues

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in government sales, preferably in the technology or software industry
  • Excellent knowledge of government procurement protocols and channels
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and technical concepts to government stakeholders and decision-makers
