UWorld is seeking an experienced Graphics Manager who will lead a team of designers in creating original images for a wide range of high-stakes exams in print and digital formats. The ideal candidate has excellent collaboration and storytelling skills. In partnership with the writing teams, the Graphics Manager will assist in generating unique ways of visualizing difficult concepts. The Graphics Manager reports to the Chief Operations Officer, working daily with the department project manager, as well as additional managers within the Art & Illustration department.

Job Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Graphic Arts, Graphic Design, or related discipline
• Strong management experience within a creative department, ideally in graphic design or illustration
• Drive to foster and build relationships with collaborators inside and outside the department
• Ability to manage, problem solve, and execute an established design and visual style
• Technical proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Background in creating vector graphics, charts, infographics, and/or simple illustrations
• Eye for detail and demonstrated organizational skills
• Ability to work well within a team environment with competing priorities
• Effectively give and receive constructive feedback

Preferred, not Required

• Understanding of ADA-compliant design principles and practices and application of those insights to creative projects
• Understanding of, or ability to learn, art and print methods that relate to the organization's needs
• Experience with HTML and UI/UX preferred but not required

Job Duties

• Maintain a library of 2D assets as well as a style guide
• Maintain knowledge of all products, their upgrades, and their upcoming priorities
• Support and empower team members through regular 1-1s; facilitate professional development opportunities for every graphic artist
• Organize and lead Graphics team meetings, as well as image reviews with content leads
• Actively support recruitment of graphic artists, including on-site, off-site, and contracted employees
• Serve as advocate and liaison to leadership as well as other departments
• Maintain a consistent methodology for measuring and reporting on productivity and quality
• Mentor staff in problem solving, decision making, and planning activities
• Help maintain an efficient and successful production process
