Job Summary:

Responsible for setting up and tending grinding machines in order to grind various cutting inserts with materials such as PCD, PCBN, Carbide, CVD and Ceramic. Follows instructions and charts during grinding procedure.



Responsibilities:

• Operate machine tools such as Cam grinders to produce parts.


• Review electronic or written blueprints or specifications for a job.


• Determine grinding speeds, feed rates, fixtures and grinding wheels to be used.


• Check accuracy of work against blueprints and specifications.


• Use manual and computer-controlled machinery.


• Write basic programs.


• Modify programs in response to problems.
