Under the direction of the Supervising Hydroelectric Plant Utility Engineer, the incumbent will be a supervisor who plans, directs, organizes, supports, trains, and evaluates Hydroelectric Plant Technician staff. This position is responsible to work closely with the Planning/Scheduling and other branches by providing technical work on control, communication, electrical and mechanical equipment in connection with the operations and maintenance of SWP generating/pumping plants, switchyards, water conveyance, and facilities. Candidate must have a safety first attitude, thorough understanding of Lock-out Tag-out principles, excellent communication skills, and be able to work cooperatively with others.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

The ideal candidate will possess extensive hydroelectric plant field experience performing troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, calibration, and commissioning of related equipment. Strong organizational skills and computer literacy are highly desirable. Familiarity with SAP is a plus. The field divisions are 100% office-centric, candidate must be willing to work in person, as this position is not eligible for telework.
